A Provisional Committee was formed by the meeting of Teachers’ Training School, Mission Veng, village Middle School staffs and other prominent members of the society in the year 1953 for uniting youths of the church. On 16th February 1954, the Synod Standing Committee officiated KTP. The day is observed as KTP Day.
Membership : The membership is open to all the Presbyterian youths in the Church between the age group of 14 to 40 years of age residing in the state and outside the state of Mizoram.

Conference and Fellowship : The KTP General Conference is held biennially on and ‘Rorel Inkhawm’ held on the year when the conference is not organized. Both KTP General Conference and Rorel Inkhawm are held on the first Monday of March. On the pastoral level, Bial KTP Conference is held every fourth Sunday of January. Each Pastorate usually has Half Year Meet or equivalent by mid-year.
Monday nights are dedicated for KTP service and KTP fellowship/prayer services are observed after Sunday forenoon or afternoon church service.
Evangelism : One of the major objectives of KTP is Evangelism. The amount of missionary funded by KTP as on 2022 amounts 4,246 missionaries. The sponsorship comes in the name of Pastorate or individual branches, and the minimum sponsorship per missionary is Rs. 1000. As on 2022, there are 94 KTP members who are working as missionaries, among which 48 are under Synod Mission Board. Apart from this, KTP members often visit Mission Fields for work camp or donate necessary materials that aid missionaries in their evangelism.
Societal adversities and poverty : The KTP have taken steps to tackle the various problems prevalent in the society. Most branches and districts are currently engaged in programmes in helping to rehabilitate the youths who are victims of this problem. They often organize Gospel campings at the Branch or Pastorate level. CKTP have also been organizing such special campings, HIV/AIDS awareness programmes, trainers’ training, seminars and workshops. They have also worked alongside the government in fighting against HIV/AIDS and substance abuse.
Central KTP also extends its helping hand to the poor and needy, funding students who could not afford education but has great potential with a sum of Rs. 20000/- to ten students each year. KTP has often lent financial assistance to the needy on the occasion of 16th February KTP Day or Christmas.
Leadership training : KTP aims to produce future leaders of the church and community, therefore, leadership trainings are organized at all levels. Leadership Training booklet has also been published. The Central Committee members are regularly invited by branches and districts to conduct these trainings.
Youth Recreation Centre : Youth Recreation Centre has been constructed by CKTP at Falkland. The campus can be utilized by individuals, women or men groups, Branches and other denominations for prayer camps, retreats etc. As of now, Phase I – Prayer House has been completed with the on-going project to construct Convention Centre that can accommodate 900 people.
Theme of the Year : KTP adheres to a particular theme every year. This theme is being pursued by all Branches and Districts as per the guideline set by the Central Committee. The theme for 2022-2024 is ‘Pray a lot.’
Mizoram Synod Choir : Mizoram Synod Choir is the official Standing Choir of the Mizoram Presbyterian Church Synod. On behalf of Mizoram Synod, the Central Kristian Thalai Pawl Committee (CKTP) manages and oversee the ministry of the Synod Choir. Choir members are appointed by the CKTP from Local Churches within Aizawl City.
The Mizoram Synod Choir was formed in 1985 and were initially known as ‘Mizo Gospel Team.’ The choir was formed mainly to perform at various mission places within India. The first batch even performed at NEICC Youth Assembly, Jowai, Meghalaya and Lunglei Chanmari Church. Their term was even prolonged till October 1986. In 1989, with the permission of Synod Executive Committee, the standing choir was officiated and given a new name, Mizoram Synod Choir. Mizoram Synod Choir continues their ministry at different churches, KTP Pastorate and Branches, within India and even at times international.
At present, there are 25 members, comprising of 13 males, including the Conductor and 12 females. They are appointed for a period of two years. Apart from the 25 members, a director is appointed from the CKTP committee, who supervise the Choir.
