In 1986, Synod Executive Committee proposed to that a centre for the upliftment of broken man and women be built. (Ref. Synod 1986 Gen. No 34) . Synod finally agreed and ordered the Social Front to create a Synod Rescue Home in September 21, 1987. There are 75 seats for patients in this rescue home (60 seats for men and 15 for women.

Its Objectives
1. To help those who struggle with drugs and substance abuse to recover from their addiction.
2. To help their patients become adaptable to civilised society.
3. To mend the broken relationship of their patients with their parents and the society
4. To help them become a productive member of their family, the church and the society.
5. To help them heal physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Staff Quarters :
The Synod Rescue Home is located in Aizawl Theological College and the staff members are expected to be permanently stationed in the campus itself. There are currently 12 Staff Quarters Building (along with the Office Building) and there are 22 families along with the Director in these quarters. There are 3 staff members who came from outside the facility.

Spiritual healing is one of the most important aspects of the Home itself. Since the patients are usually from outside the church, they are not aware of the functions and programmes of the church. It is the duty of the Home to teach these parents how the Church functions and the programmes organised by the church and therefor they practice everything that the church is doing inside the home itself. Since spiritual renewal is the main focus of the programme, the patients then underwent the “Special Revival Treatment” right after the needs of their mental and physical needs are recovered and before they leave the facility, a speaker would be invited to have the Revival Treatment programme with them.

Before they really enter the spiritual renewal programme they would enter a pre-revival programme, bethel and group prayer in order to prepare and make them familiar with the presence of God. The Revival Programme would be followed by the Follow-up programme and lastly, they would individually go through the post-revival counselling.

After Care :
After the patient leaves the Synod Rescue Home, the After Care Unit is created in order to monitor them when they try to go back to their normal lives. Reserved for 10 individuals, the After Care Unit last for up to 6 months. In the After Care Unit, staff members are appointed by the Synod itself. The Unit functions for a long time and taught the patients about tailoring, computer studies, driving and even bamboo crafting but the programme was abandoned for a short while and now it has been revived to function more effectively than ever before.
