Name and Origin:
The resolution of 1977 Synod Inkhawmpui decided that the Synod Revival Committee be formed, therefore in 1978 the ‘Synod Revival Committee’ was formed as a sub-committee functioning under Synod Executive Committee (SEC).
Objectives:
1) To facilitate the revival of Churches in Mizoram and to lead them towards or explain the right way of revival.
2) To align and strengthen revival with accordance to the ministry of the Church.
3) To offer consultations or act as consultants for any church who are due to host/organize camping and campaigns, and to decide the manner of ministry accordingly with the church’s need.
4) To observe enthusiastic voluntary preachers and lead them towards a much more meaningful ministry.
5) To scout for Gospel orators with ‘special talents’ and to make the person stand in good stead.
6) To organize Seminar, Training or Retreat for preachers.
7) To provide necessary aid and assistance for their ministry. Eg: TA/DA, books etc.
About Revival Speaker:
Recruitment of Speaker : Every two years, the Synod Revival Committee recruits not more than 70 Synod Revival Speakers. There are 70 Speaker at present.
Inviting Speakers : Any Church that require a Speaker may write a letter to the Synod Office. The Revival Committee will then assign its Speakers accordingly. Other denominations may also submit their invitation letter, however, the expense of that ministry will be financed by the host church.
Role of Speaker : Speakers, for the most part, set out for camping, campaign or crusade. Operation Nehemia was started on February 2017.
Supervised Places :
Revival Camping Centre : In celebration of the ‘Revival Centenary 1906-2006,’ the Revival Camping Centre was established at Sihphir Neihbawi. Camping was first organized by the Revival Committee by end of 2014. To book the Centre, one may write a letter addressing the Executive Secretary i/c Synod Revival.
Bethel Lung and Monument Lung : The committee takes care of the maintenance of Mizoram Bethel Lung, laid at Chaltlang in memory of the first Mizoram revival and Revival Centenary Lung/Monument, laid on the occasion of Synod Revival Centenary (1906-2006) at the Synod Executive Secretary compound, Misson Veng.
